I'll take freedom any day over the supervision and sanctimony of the central planners

Paul Ryan's speech started off slowly but hit all eight cylinders by its conclusion.

I was struck by Ryan's humility especially when speaking of his deceased father said, "I'd like to think he'd be proud of me."

He seemed to hit his stride when he spoke about President Obama:

President Obama was asked not long ago to reflect on any mistakes he might have made. He said, well, "I haven't communicated enough." He said his job is "to tell a story to the American people" - as if that's the whole problem here? He needs to talk more, and we need to be better listeners?

Ladies and gentlemen, these past four years we have suffered no shortage of words in the White House. What's missing is leadership in the White House. And the story that Barack Obama does tell, forever shifting blame to the last administration, is getting old. The man assumed office almost four years ago - isn't it about time he assumed responsibility?

I hope both Ryan and Romney ask, "The man assumed responsibility four years ago - isn't it about time he assumed responsibility?" every chance they get. Because it was President Obama who spoke of embarking upon "a new era of responsibility" when he was sworn into office. Of course, Obama's idea of responsibility is different from the rest of us.

The funniest sentence of the speech was when Ryan said, "College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life."

And to think I can remember a time when our rooms were full of posters of Cheryl Tiegs or Farrah Fawcett. Obama posters? Kids these days.

But I digress.

Here is Ryan at his philosophical essence:

None of us have to settle for the best this administration offers - a dull, adventureless journey from entitlement to the next, a government-planned life, a country where everything is free but us.

Listen to the way we're spoken to already, as if everyone is stuck in some class or station in life, victims of circumstances beyond their control, with government there to help us cope with our fate.

It's the exact opposite of everything I learned growing up in Wisconsin, or at college in Ohio. When I was waiting tables, washing dishes, or mowing lawns for money, I never thought of myself as stuck in some station in life. I was on my own path, my own journey, an American journey where I could think for myself, define happiness for myself. That's what we do in this country. That's the American Dream. That's freedom, and I'll take that any day over the supervision and sanctimony of the central planners.

If you want to understand the difference between Mitt Romney and President Obama, Ryan summed it up this way:

And you are entitled to the clearest possible choice, because the time for choosing is drawing near. So here is our pledge.

We will not duck tough issues, we will lead.

We will not spend four years blaming others, we will take responsibility.

We will not try to replace our founding principles, we will reapply our founding principles.

It doesn't get any clearer than that. The rest is up to us.

'Fact Checkers' AWOL After Obama Spokesperson Lies About Jobs Created Under Reagan and Obama

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2012/08/26/fact-checkers-awol-after-obama-spokesperson-lies-about-jobs-created-unde

--

Obama campaign spokesperson Stepanie Cutter, appearing on MSNBC earlier this week, claimed that "over the past, you know, 27 months we've created 4.5 million private-sector jobs. That's more jobs than in the Bush recovery (or) in the Reagan recovery."

A Thursday Investor's Business Daily editorial plaintively asked: "Where are those allegedly unbiased fact-checkers when you need them?" As will be seen shortly, the answer is "AWOL."

For those who crave some numbers -- In its first 37 post-recession months, the economy under Reagan added more than 9.8 million nonfarm payroll (NFP) jobs, over 7 million more than the 2.7 million added under Obama. To replicate the Reagan-era performance, the economy under Obama would have needed to add over 14 million jobs since the recession's end; it has really added less than 20% of that. The Reagan-era private sector margin is over 5.7 million jobs.

And of course, there's an obvious point to be made about the unemployment rate, as IBD noted:

What's more, after 29 months of allegedly stellar job growth under Obama, the jobless rate is still 8.3%. By this point in the Reagan and Bush jobs recoveries, the unemployment rate was 7.2% and 4.9%, respectively.

If we were one of those fact-checking organizations, we'd give Stephanie Cutter the "Lying Liar from Liersburg" award.

A Google News search done this morning on "Stephanie Cutter Reagan" (past week, not in quotes, sorted by date with duplicates) returned six items (the final result listed pre-dates Cutter's lie). The results are from American Thinker, Real Clear Politics (2), National Review, Washington Examiner, and United Liberty.

The same search at the Associated Press's main site returned nothing.

AP's "Presidential Campaign Fact Check" appears to be limited to what the presidential and vice-presidential candidates say. The wire service is currently carrying its interview with President Obama, naturally headlined "AP INTERVIEW: OBAMA CALLS ROMNEY'S IDEAS 'EXTREME'," on its "Top Story" page. Zheesh.

As to "fact-checkers" like PolitiFact and others, nothing demonstrates that they have turned themselves into just another tool of leftist bias than the "fact" that they haven't called out Stephanie Cutter's lie for four days and counting while trying and failing to nitpick the Romney campaign over its true statement about women's job losses during the recession several months ago. PolitiFact falsely claimed it was "Mostly False."

Oh, by the way, as James Pethoukouis noted in his second crucifixion of Cutter's comment (his original post relating to Reagan is here), "both the Reagan and Bush recoveries were stronger than the current recovery under President Obama."

Romney’s right: Obamacare cuts Medicare by $716 billion

Washington Post:  Romney's right: Obamacare cuts Medicare by $716 billion

Even the leftist Wash Post agrees.
They have no standing in criticizing Ryan's attempt to fix Medicare. Obama has no plan to fix Medicare.
Ryan's plan gives everyone currently 54 and below a choice, old plan as it is, or a spending account style plan.

Obama's College Classmate: The Obama Scandal is at Columbia

Wayne Allyn Root is a former Libertarian vice presidential nominee. He now serves as Chairman of the Libertarian National Campaign Committee. He is the  […]

I am President Obama's classmate at Columbia University, Class of '83. I am also one of the most accurate Las Vegas oddsmakers and prognosticators. Accurate enough that I was awarded my own star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. And I smell something rotten in Denmark. Obama has a big skeleton in his closet. It's his college records. Call it "gut instinct" but my gut is almost always right. Obama has a secret hidden at Columbia- and it's a bad one that threatens to bring down his presidency. Gut instinct is how I've made my living for 29 years since graduating Columbia.

Obama and his infamous strategist David Axelrod understand how to play political hardball, the best it's ever been played. Team Obama has decided to distract America's voters by condemning Mitt Romney for not releasing enough years of his tax returns. It's the perfect cover. Obama knows the best defense is a bold offense. Just keep attacking Mitt and blaming him for secrecy and evasion, while accusing him of having a scandal that doesn't exist. Then ask followers like Senator Harry Reid to chase the lead. The U.S. Senate Majority Leader appears to now be making up stories out of thin air, about tax returns he knows nothing about. It's a cynical, brilliant, and vicious strategy. Make Romney defend, so he can't attack the real Obama scandal.

This is classic Axelrod. Obama has won several elections in his career by slandering his opponents and leaking sealed documents. Not only do these insinuations and leaks ruin the credibility and reputation of Obama's opponents, they keep them on the defensive and off Obama's trail of sealed documents.

By attacking Romney's tax records, Obama's socialist cabal creates a problem that doesn't exist. Is the U.S. Senate Majority Leader making up stories out of thin air? You decide. But the reason for this baseless attack is clear- make Romney defend, so not only is he "off message" but it helps the media ignore the real Obama scandal.

My answer for Romney? Call Obama's bluff.

Romney should call a press conference and issue a challenge in front of the nation. He should agree to release more of his tax returns, only if Obama unseals his college records. Simple and straight-forward. Mitt should ask "What could possibly be so embarrassing in your college records from 29 years ago that you are afraid to let America's voters see? If it's THAT bad, maybe it's something the voters ought to see." Suddenly the tables are turned. Now Obama is on the defensive.

My bet is that Obama will never unseal his records because they contain information that could destroy his chances for re-election. Once this challenge is made public, my prediction is you'll never hear about Mitt's tax returns ever again.

Why are the college records, of a 51-year-old President of the United States, so important to keep secret? I think I know the answer.

If anyone should have questions about Obama's record at Columbia University, it's me. We both graduated (according to Obama) Columbia University, Class of '83. We were both (according to Obama) Pre-Law and Political Science majors. And I thought I knew most everyone at Columbia. I certainly thought I'd heard of all of my fellow Political Science majors. But not Obama (or as he was known then- Barry Soetoro). I never met him. Never saw him. Never even heard of him. And none of the classmates that I knew at Columbia have ever met him, saw him, or heard of him.

But don't take my word for it. The Wall Street Journal reported in 2008 that Fox News randomly called 400 of our Columbia classmates and never found one who had ever met Obama.

Now all of this mystery could be easily and instantly dismissed if Obama released his Columbia transcripts to the media. But even after serving as President for 3 1/2 years he refuses to unseal his college records. Shouldn't the media be as relentless in pursuit of Obama's records as Romney's? Shouldn't they be digging into Obama's past–beyond what he has written about himself–with the same boundless enthusiasm as Mitt's?

The first question I'd ask is, if you had great grades, why would you seal your records? So let's assume Obama got poor grades. Why not release the records? He's president of the free world, for gosh sakes. He's commander-in-chief of the U.S. military. Who'd care about some poor grades from three decades ago, right? So then what's the problem? Doesn't that make the media suspicious? Something doesn't add up.

Secondly, if he had poor grades at Occidental, how did he get admitted to an Ivy League university in the first place? And if his grades at Columbia were awful, how'd he ever get into Harvard Law School? So again those grades must have been great, right? So why spend millions to keep them sealed?

Third, how did Obama pay for all these fancy schools without coming from a wealthy background? If he had student loans or scholarships, would he not have to maintain good grades?

I can only think of one answer that would explain this mystery.

Here's my gut belief: Obama got a leg up by being admitted to both Occidental and Columbia as a foreign exchange student. He was raised as a young boy in Indonesia. But did his mother ever change him back to a U.S. citizen? When he returned to live with his grandparents in Hawaii or as he neared college-age preparing to apply to schools, did he ever change his citizenship back? I'm betting not.

If you could unseal Obama's Columbia University records I believe you'd find that:

A)   He rarely ever attended class.

B)   His grades were not those typical of what we understand it takes to get into Harvard Law School.

C)   He attended Columbia as a foreign exchange student.

D)   He paid little for either undergraduate college or Harvard Law School because of foreign aid and scholarships given to a poor foreign students like this kid Barry Soetoro from Indonesia.

If you think I'm "fishing" then prove me wrong. Open up your records Mr. President. What are you afraid of?

If it's okay for U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to go on a fishing expedition about Romney's taxes (even though he knows absolutely nothing about them nor will release his own), then I think I can do the same thing. But as Obama's Columbia Class of '83 classmate, at least I have more standing to make educated guesses.

It's time for Mitt to go on the attack and call Obama's bluff.

Obama and Ludwig share SSN

Explain this one away...

HOW NO ONE GETS A REASSIGNED SS NUMBER

An intensive investigation has revealed the identity of the
man whose Social Security number (SSN) is being used
by President Obama: Jean Paul Ludwig, who was born
in France in 1890, immigrated to the United States in
1924, and was assigned SSN 042-68-4425 (Obama's
current SSN) on or about March 1977.
Ludwig lived most of his adult life in Connecticut . Because
of that, his SSN begins with the digits 042, which are
among only a select few reserved for Connecticut residents. Obama never lived or worked in that state! Therefore, there
is no reason on earth for his SSN to start with the digits 042.
None whatsoever!

Now comes the best part! Ludwig spent the final months
of his life in Hawaii , where he died.

Conveniently, Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Payne
Dunham, worked part-time in the Probate Office in the
Honolulu Hawaii Courthouse, and therefore had access
to the SSNs of deceased individuals.

The Social Security Administration was never informed
of Ludwig's death, and because he never received Social
Security benefits there were no benefits to stop and therefore,
no questions were ever raised.

The suspicion, of course, is that Dunham, knowing her
grandson was not a U.S. Citizen, either because he was
born in Kenya or became a citizen of Indonesia upon his
adoption by Lolo Soetoro simply scoured the probate
records until she found someone who died who was not
receiving Social Security benefits, and selected Mr.
Ludwig's Connecticut SSN for Obama.

Just wait until Trump gets past the birth certificate and onto
the issue of Barry O's use of a stolen SSN. You will see leftist
heads exploding, because they will have no way of defending
Obama.

Although many Americans do not understand the meaning
of the term "natural born" there are few who do not understand
that if you are using someone else's SSN it is a clear indication
of fraud.

Let's all get this information out to everybody on our mailing
lists..

If the voters of this great nation can succeed in bringing
this lying, deceitful, cheating, corrupt, impostor to justice it
will be the biggest and best news in decades for our country
and the world.
