Our free society will simply cease to exist
Ronald Reagan - at the time, governor of California - wrote an article for National Review on December 7, 1973. The article was about a failed voter proposition, but more abstractly it was about spending and the nature of government. Take a look at Reagan's warning 37 years ago ... are we quickly sliding down the very hill that Reagan warned us about?
"The people will find a way to bring big government under control, to put a reasonable limit on how much of their income government may take in taxes. This idea will become a reality. It must prevail because if it does not, the free society we have known for two hundred years, the ideal of a government by consent of the governed, will simply cease to exist."

"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it." Frederic Bastia
