private sector shrinks while big government grows

Since December 2007 the private sector workforce has shrunk by 6.6% while the federal government workforce has grown by 11.7%.

Today, the total number of people who have lost their jobs in the private sector is much greater than the people who've gained a government job. But someday in the not too distant future, with the rate of growth of big government, that will switch. Someday government will be bigger than the private sector. I don't look forward to that day.
