Everyone Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day

http://conservativehideout.com/2012/05/25/its-everyone-blog-about-brett-kimberlin-day-news-and-links/

Welcome to Everyone Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day!  It's shaping up to be quite an effort.  To try and keep up with all the posts related to this event, I'll be relying on some other bloggers.  So, here are some links.  Many are from bloggers that I have not visited before, so drop by their sites.

First off,Radio Patriot has a list of participating  blogs…

This is by no means complete, but it does show that there are a number of blogs participating.

Lilac Sunday has an outstanding, brief intro into who Brett Kimberlin is, and what his activites have been…

I.   The Speedway Bombings

For a terrifying week in 1978, a series of seemingly random bombings terrified the residents of Speedway, Indiana.  One bomb maimed Carl DeLong and cost him a leg; he never fully recovered from his injuries, and committed suicide in 1983.

In October 1981, Brett Kimberlin (pictured above) was convicted for these acts of domestic terrorism and sentenced to 50 years in prison.  More information on the Speedway Bombings, including investigators' theory that the bombings were intended to distract law enforcement from a recent murder, can be found at the Indianapolis Star's website, here.

Brett Kimberlin was paroled in 1994, and he is making news again; not for the Speedway Bombings, but for the way he's chose to live his life since being released from prison and for the people who are giving him money.

II.   Brett Kimberlin, Community Organizer

Brett Kimberlin is the director of a tax-exempt organization called the Justice Through Music Project, which uses music to "organize, educate, and activate" young people.  He also is the co-founder of another tax-exempt organization, Velvet Revolution, a network of Liberal organizations "demanding progressive change."

Velvet Revolution has made headlines by demanding the arrests of high-profile Conservatives, including Karl Rove and Andrew Breitbart.  According to Fox News, in 2009, Velvet Revolution offered $200,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue, in retaliation for the Chamber's objections to President Obama's agenda.  Given Brett Kimberlin's violent past, the Chamber was forced to re-evaluate its security needs as a result of the "bounty" on Donohue's head.

You'll have to go the Lilac Sunday to see the rest.  Go there NOW!

The Other McCain has a link to a site devoted to defending bloggers hit with harassing, frivolous legal actions…

The National Bloggers Club has been a valuable ally in supporting and defending bloggers targeted by harassment and intimidation. Today is "Everybody Blog Brett Kimberlin Day." I join with National Bloggers Club president Ali Akbar in sincerely requesting that readers concerned about defending First Amendment rights online visit the club's special site, KimberlinFiles.org, and please give generously. Fellow bloggers can help by including the image and link in their coverage of the Kimberlin case.

– Robert Stacy McCain, Whereabouts Unknown

BTW, RSM is still in hiding.  So get over there and hit his tip jar.  Undisclosed locations  can be pricey at times, ya know?

Glenn Beck's outfit, The Blaze, is also in on the action, with a lengthy post on Kimberlin, and his activities…

How immutable are our First Amendment rights? Would they remain so even under the most dire conditions? There are about half a dozen bloggers who, at this very moment in time, are finding out just that after having been subject to: death threats, blackmail, extorsion, numerous erroneous lawsuits, cyber-attacks of phone, email and social networking accounts and become the target of smear campaigns that have lead to their firing until ultimately discovering that others who came before them, have turned up dead.

Move over Ayers, there's a not-so-new domestic terrorist in town

What follows is the unbelievable yet non-fictional tale of a left-wing ex-con with an extensive rap-sheet who, since his release from prison, has led the crusade against Republican "voter fraud" while simultaneously making it his life's mission to threaten, brutalize, shakedown, sue, slander and generally terrorize any writer — conservative and liberal alike — who dares speak plainly about his checkered past. The post is lengthy, as there is much ground to cover where Kimberlin's past is concerned, but the information is pertinent to understanding how and why he began brutalizing bloggers with whom he disagrees.

I have also heard that Beck discussed this on his radio show this morning  That means a few MILLION people heard about it!

Then, our friend Larry got into the fray…

Since the beginnings of the Tea Party revolution, the liberals have accused us of being disorderly, rude, vicious, etc. Many on the left have said they have worried that violence would ensue from the gatherings of normal Americans who were concerned about their country. Once again, we see the liberals are guilty of the very charges they have directed at conservatives.

Some may wonder why I would write about Brett Kimberlin. I'm sure he hasn't a clue who this small time blogger from Oklahoma is. The answer is simple. There is very little in this world I despise more than a bully and Brett Kimberlin is just such a man. He is a felon, convicted of heinous crimes against his fellow citizens, who had done him no harm. In my own small fashion, this is my way of spitting in the face of the bully and standing with my friends around the blogsphere. I'm doing my best to have their back

And Harrison, at Capitol Commentary, has the following…

In the process of reading about Mr. Kimberlin, I tweeted an article about him which I had read and an hour or so later I got this response via Twitter:

Ernest A. Canning's bio says this:

Active member of CA state bar since 1977 with undergraduate and graduate degrees in political science as well as juris doctor. Writes for The Brad Blog.

Clearly there are people out there looking for people interested in Mr. Kimberlin…

And, it is said that friends of Kimberlin are associated with The Brad Blog…

Of course, Da Tech Guy got in on the action…

Abdul: What is your name?
Father O'Malley: William O'Malley.
Abdul: I did not call you.
Father O'Malley: You called for all the Jews. I'm Jewish, just like Jesus Christ. You take one, you gotta take us all.

Delta Force 1986

If you are at all aware of the existence of the Right Side of the Blogosphere you should know today has been dubbed: " Everybody blog about Brett Kimberlin day"

This was coined by Lee Stranahan in response to the forced repatriation of Robert Stacy McCain, writer for the American Spectator, Reporter for 30+ years, member of the Axis of Fedora, and lean mean blogging machine whosay the story of the attempt to silence blogger Aaron Worthing, immediately recognized it as newsworthy and pursued it to the point where it has been necessary for Mr. McCain to relocate himself and his family out of his home and out of his state for their own protection.

And, our pal Wyblog stepped up to the line as well…

I stand with Stacy McCain, wherever he is

I blog for fun (mostly). Yes I'm political, and yes I'm provocative, but absent the occasional nutjob emailer I guess I'm not important enough to get the whackos really fired up. Which is fine by me.

Other bloggers aren't so lucky. Robert Stacy McCain was recentlyforced to flee his home, and go into hiding with his wife and children. Why? Because a left-wing "activist" named Brett Kimberlin didn't like Stacy digging into his past.

That's it for now folks.  I'll be keeping up with the story as the day wears on.  I do want to do another post, but I have a busy day ahead of me here.  If I can, I want to cover the story of another blogger targeted by Kimberlin and his associates.

UPDATE I:  Linked by Michelle Malkin!  Thanks!

Also linked by  The Minority Report.  Thanks!

At the Suggestion of Smitty, I have added the appropriate hash tag to the post.
