Hysteria is Mounting over Voting Machines

A substantial portion of the electronic voting machines that will be used in the U.S.A. next week are produced in Venezuela. That's right, the country that used those same machines to re-elect Hugo Chavez. I've heard from the left that exit polls should predict an election (although not scientifically a sound method).. Well, when Hugo Chavez was running in his last election the exit polls were going 60/40 against him. And after the votes were tallied, by his electronic voting machines, somehow that flipped, and he won by 60/40, instead of the other way around which was the predicted values based on exit polling. Personally, I don't trust exit polls, but those who do ought to raise their eyebrows to this one.

We all know that Chavez is a leftist who hates Bush, so if anyone has the election rigged, it's Chavez, and it is rigged against the R's. All Chavez has to do is push a button, and any R victory will switch to a D. :)

There's just one week to go until Election Day, and already the hysteria is mounting...over voting machines. After the 2000 debacle in Florida, governments across the country have bought these electronic voting machines. But the media and Democrats, always pushing the "disenfranchised" lie, are trying to portray them as hard to use and inaccurate. After all, how can normal people be expected to use a voting machine? What if they vote for the wrong person?

Think about that position for a minute. Just about every person walking our streets has used an ATM machine. We use computers at home....which are much more complicated than any voting machine. People use self-serve grocery check-out stations. They pay at the pump for their gas. The voting machines are not complicated. They are not hard to use. But that's not the real issue here anyway.

I want you to consider the possibility that the real issue that Democrats fear is that the machines just might be accurate. For decades, Democrats have been propelled into office by election fraud. That is, people voting twice...dead people voting...people being paid off and told who to vote for, etc. The electronic voting machine gets rid of a lot of that. Computers are absolute...they only do exactly what people tell them to do...not what some Democratic precinct chief wants.

And then there's the whole issue of the soft bigotry of low expectations. Shouldn't the people who Democrats say are too dumb to work the machines be offended? Of course not....not as long as those same Democrats keep the checks coming.

The world as we knew it ended 27 years ago next Saturday, when hundreds of radical Muslim students overran and occupied the American embassy in Teheran. For 444 days, the world watched and waited, as a radical Islamic regime held hostage not just 52 diplomats in a fortified bunker, but, in fact, an entire nation thousands of miles away.

For the first time, we Americans -- a proud people, with an altruistic history of sacrificing blood and treasure to free or defend millions of people around the globe from the depredations of dictators and tyrants -- heard our county described savagely as the "Great Satan."

The seizure of the American embassy in Iran on November 4, 1979 by Muslim extremist students was the first shot fired in what is now, clearly, a war with a radical Islam determined to destroy the West and reestablish the Muslim Caliphate along a crescent that stretches from Spain to the Middle East.

This war is unlike any our nation has ever faced -- in fact, it is unlike any war ANY nation has ever faced -- because it is not a war that pits one nation-state against another; it is a war that pits one entire civilization against another.

To make matters worse, we face this war not because of territorial ambitions, or imperial over-reach, or commercial or economic interests; we face this war because we choose to exist.

For more than three decades, they waged war against America and her principal ally in the Middle East -- Israel -- and we chose not to see it for what it was. Rather than recognizing what was going on, we chose, like the ostrich, to bury our heads in the sand. And as a result, we buried American bodies in the desert.

The seizure of the American embassy in Teheran in 1979 was followed by the suicide truck bombing against the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut on October 23, 1983, which cost us the lives of 241 young soldiers -- the deadliest single-day death toll for the Marine Corps since the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.

That attack was carried out by the same Hezbollah terrorists who rain destruction on northern Israel. They were funded, trained, and equipped by Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
And what did we do? Ronald Reagan chose to listen to the counsel of men who advised withdrawal -- men like my opponent, Jack Murtha.

Five weeks after Bill Clinton was inaugurated as our 42nd President, a Ryder rental van packed with 1300 pounds of explosives detonated in the underground parking garage of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Islamo-fascist terrorists linked to what later became known as "al Qaeda" had brought spectacular terrorism on a grand scale home to America for the first time.

Just a few months earlier, American soldiers had been dispatched to Somalia in a humanitarian mission to ensure the safe delivery of foodstuffs to end starvation that had already killed 300,000 Somalis. On October 3rd and 4th, 1993, in what became known as the Battle of Mogadishu -- popularized by the book and movie "Black Hawk Down" -- 19 Americans died at the hands of Somali militias, and Americans watched on CNN as the body of a dead American Marine was dragged through the streets.

What we did not know at the time -- and only learned years later, thanks to the capture and interrogation of al Qaeda operatives -- was that the assault on the American forces was conducted by forces trained, equipped, and funded by the then-virtually-unknown al Qaeda.

And what did we do at the time? Bill Clinton chose to listen to the counsel of men who advised withdrawal -- men like my opponent, Jack Murtha.

After that, the attacks against Americans overseas began coming faster and faster:

# The June 1996 truck bomb attack on a U.S. Air Force barracks in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. 19 American servicemen died.

# The August 7, 1998 coordinated attacks against the U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya. 257 people died, and another 4,000 were injured.

# The October 12, 2000 attack on the U.S.S. Cole, a U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer in the Gulf of Aden. 17 Americans did in al Qaeda attack.

And then, less than a year later, the war came back home to America on 9/11.

Islamo-fascist terrorists are determined to kill as many Americans as they possibly can, and destroy our nation -- not because of anything we've done, but simply because of who we are and what we believe.

This is the great challenge facing America in the early years of the 21st century, and we need leaders who understand this threat and are committed not just to defending against it, but to defeating it.

When Osama bin Laden -- the world's most dangerous Islamo-fascist terrorist -- issued his famous call to arms in August 1996, he "praised the 1983 suicide bombing in Beirut … and especially the 1993 firefight in Somalia after which the United States 'left the area carrying disappointment, humiliation, defeat and your dead with you,'" according to the 9/11 Commission report.

The American embassy in Teheran. Beirut. World Trade Center One. Mogadishu. The Khobar Towers. American embassies in Tanzania and Kenya. The U.S.S. Cole.

Each time, our response was muted. Each time, terrorists learned a simple lesson: they could kill Americans with impunity.

This war will not be over until one side or the other is vanquished. And I, for one, do not want to have to explain to my children why America lacked the will to defend itself.

When a bully confronts you in the schoolyard, you have two choices -- you can run and hide, or you can stand your ground and fight back. If you run and hide, he will come after you. Again and again and again. But if you stand your ground and fight back, you can beat him.

For too long, America has acted like a frightened child. But the stakes in this conflict are too large for us to continue to act that way.

For the sake of our children, and our children's children, we must defeat this enemy NOW.

The war in Iraq is difficult. I have spent time visiting with wounded soldiers at Walter Reed. I have seen their courage, their resolve, and their commitment. I am very humbled by their sacrifice.

Withdrawing from Iraq now, before the mission is complete, would be just one more time that America raises the white flag of surrender. It would ensure that the sacrifices made by our fighting men and women -- and their families -- would be in vain. It would merely send the message to the terrorists one more time that America does not have the will to prevail -- and it would, therefore, embolden the terrorists and lead to even further attacks. It would send a message to other governments as well, that America is an undependable ally -- and that it is safer to cut a deal with the terrorists than to count on us.

The Islamo-fascist terrorists who threaten us may be the first to engage in a clash of civilizations, but they are not the first to threaten America. Their fate will be the same as the fate of others before them who threatened us.

America, as the sage said, will be the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.

EU's hectors of hypocrisy

Why doesn't the EU tell us how they are doing with respect to pollution, rather than CO2. Additionally, why don't they tell us how many acres/hectors of crops otherwise take up land that could revert to forest, because of the ethanol the land produces... One thing is evident: the EU won't make many of their targets on reduction of CO2. Their hypocrisy consumes hectors of media rhetoric.

D's: A Blank Slate for America

In 1994 Newt Gingrich and the Republicans in the House of Representatives ran on the platform called "The Contract with
America." It was conservative in nature, and pushed the R's into the majority by a landslide. The R's won because they actually had an agenda. This year, as always, the Democrats don't have an agenda, other than: bash Bush, bash R's. That's it. According to Thomas Sowell, will the Democrats this fall receive a "Blank Check from America?" Not if we all show up to vote. Ignore the media polls and just vote. Otherwise the party with no real stand on issues will win.

Take a look at this photo, taken of the Mars Rover from the Mars Orbiter overhead. It's like searching for a needle in a haystack. That's what it is like trying to find a Democrat who actually has a plan on any issue.

Rendell to raise sales tax

In his re-election bid, Governor Rendell of PA admits he wants to raise sales taxes to pay for property tax reform. His form of property tax reform, of course, does not include reform for all citizens, only those that he deems as worthy. Translation: working-class folks will get no property tax reform. "Rendell defends slot machines and judicial pay raise, and lays out agenda for a 2nd term." I say: vote for Lynn Swann; he will give Pennsylvanians true reform, fair for all.

This site is reporting the World's 10 Most Polluted Places, yet I'll bet you won't hear this in the old-stream media. If it were a story about global warming, it would lead. This list includes true pollution [note: CO2 is not pollution]. I don't see the U.S. on this list. That's because we are the cleanest country in the world because of our economy. Another Murtha tirade

I live in John Murtha's district. He used to seem much different back in the 1990's. I sent emails to him back then, and he responded personally. Back then, he seemed concerned for his constituents. Now he does not seem so. I have voiced my concern lately countless times to his office that his concern is no longer for his district, and is rather, a tirade against Bush. That's wrong. He is a representative, and his own opinions should be kept to himself. Here is his latest tirade:

'Defeatists, they call us, and appeasers and -- oh so cleverly -- "Defeatocrats."'

Hey John, that's because you are a defeatist! You offer no constructive solutions, just a bunch of whining! Have you gone off the deep end? I'll be voting for Irey.

Good news on the economy you won't hear in the old-stream media.

The media is really a bunch of hypocrites. Here is a story that is virtually buried. If the shoe were on the other foot, the D's were in control, and it looked like the R's would stand a good chance of winning back control, then the old stream media would plaster this story all over every outlet in the media ad-infinitum, until the viewers were blue in the face with the information.

The nation's unemployment rate fell to 4.6 percent last month, down from 4.7 in August, and average wages rose by 4 percent over the previous year -- the best performance for both measures in five years.

Not only are Democrats soft on terror, many Democrats lend aid and comfort to the enemy by opposing, rather than joining, our war on terrorists.

The Democrats are the party of cut and run. Ours is a party that has a clear vision.. Time and time again, the Democrats want to have it both ways. They talk tough on terror, but when the votes are counted, their softer side comes out.. In fact, the Senate Democrat Leader bragged, "We killed the Patriot Act." That's what he said. When he was asked later by a reporter whether killing the Patriot Act was really something to celebrate, he answered, "Of course it is." .. The stakes in this election couldn't be more clear. If you don't think we should be listening in on the terrorist, then you ought to vote for the Democrats. If you want your government to continue listening in when al Qaeda planners are making phone calls into the United States, then you vote Republican.. If you listen closely to some of the leaders of the Democratic Party, it sounds like - they think the best way to protect the American people is, wait until we're attacked again..
